 As well as working in the Graphics Department, I work part-time in Student Life at CMSU. I supervise & assist students who create the promotional & informational items for several departments such as Housing, Campus Activities, Performing Arts Series, and many more.  I started here as a graduate assistant in January 1996, finished my course work in 1998, and then returned in 1999 as an instructor. I've developed course curriculum and materials and instructed various classes in graphic arts. See classes for more information.

 I developed and arranged seminars and training programs for printing companies. I also developed promotional materials for all programs and was editor for three industry-specific newsletters that went to members in Kansas and western Missouri.

 I built the daily layout of the newspaper pages and loaded advertisements onto them. I also designed and built the specialty/holiday advertisement pages.

I've taken all the required classes for this one, but due to a sudden (okay, chronic) case of procrastination & quite a few time-consuming things that make for pretty handy excuses, I have not completed the thesis. I'm under a deadline now, and since I work well under pressure, I expect to have this bad boy turned in May 2001. Well, that didn't happen but I'm leaving this here so that maybe my missed deadline being announced to the world will shame me into finishing. Does anyone know if they make a "Thesis for Dummies"?

It came along with a unique opportunity to work and study in a fully-functioning print shop which was mostly inplant for the school but did do several jobs a year for outside sources. At the time, there were seven full-time staff members but the rest of the staff was students.
